![]() "The Evolve Program" The term "Alafia" (pronounced "A-la-fee-ya") is a Nigerian word that presents a holistic concept of health that encompases the total person. The total person includes the mental, the physical, the emotional, and the spiritual aspects of the self. Self is then integrated with relationships, circumstances and conditions. This approach aims at achieving the full productive potential of individuals, but it also applies to organizations. Constant Course Correction structures regular use of positive self statements, breathing exercises, along with voice induced images and sensations to create an atmosphere favorable to uplifting the total person/organization. Goal-setting and record keeping of exercises (related to the goal) are key elements of the approach. The growth and change of modern society has greatly increased the demand for coping with stress. As a result, the need for problem solving and conflict management has also surged. This surge has vastly outpaced clear cut methods or programs to address these changes. This is why programs like the E.V.O.L.V.E. program are so much needed. The Constant Course Correction format of the program is the centerpiece of a system that slowly but surely unlocks, unleashes and lets loose our full productive potential. 1) Increased Productivity 2) Increased Health / Confidence / Peace / Happiness 3) Increased Attention and Concentration, Focus 4) Increased Evaluation of Choices and Consequences 5) Increased Alternative Solution Thinking 6) Increased Relaxation and Imagery Skills 7) Increased Positive-Outcome Visualization Skills 8) Decreased Conflicts 9) Increased Impulse Control It could easily be argued that the most striking difference between the 21st Century and those preceding it is the sheer amount of information and stimulation that we have to manage. Modern society is unfolding an ever increasing tidal wave of technologies and media influences that expose children (and families) to more and more complex decisions at an increasingly earlier age. As a result, the challenges facing todays youth, families and individuals may never have been greater.
